Monday - Tuesday snow

Storm Ezekiel is a tricky one. This storm is now showing evidence that we will get 3-4 inches tonight but then turn to rain and wash away the snow in the early morning hours. So I do believe we will have school Monday, but then the tricky part comes along. The rain we get Monday will turn back to snow Monday night and may pile up over night into Tuesday morning. Looks like Eastern Mass will get more snow than first expected. Below are quotes I have found from several different sources.
I will continue to follow this storm and blog about it.

There are many models that show potential weather. The EURO is one of those models and the EURO is showing a lot of snow for Monday night into Tuesday morning. 10 inches

This is only one model so we can't be sure this will happen but I will definitely pay attention and keep you updated.

Ezekiel

The storm is headed our way but there is still some question about the rain snow line. As of right now looks like we will get snow tomorrow and tomorrow night. In the very early hours of Monday morning the snow will turn to rain and may wash away all the snow we got Sunday. Then Monday night the rain will turn back to snow and may accumulate another 2-3 inches. If the rain line lowers then we would get more snow. The snow is expected to start early Sunday afternoon

These are all the snow total maps that I could find this afternoon. If things change tomorrow I will post new maps

storm Ezekiel

There is a storm heading our way Sunday afternoon lasting into Tuesday morning. The amount of snow vs. rain keeps changing so I am not very confident in the amounts I blog about today. I will post here again tomorrow but for today here are a few of the snow total maps that I could find.

I will watch and read all the weather reports tomorrow morning and then I will post all updates on storm Ezekiel on this blog some time tomorrow afternoon.
For now you should know that the snow will be arriving some time late afternoon Sunday so you shouldn't plan to be on the road. The big question is where will the rain/snow line set up?
That's all for now.

First Chance of Snow

There is a storm headed our way late this weekend and there is a chance that some of the precipitation could be snow. I will continue to follow the weather and post updates here. As of 10am today weather.com is predicting a few inches. What a great way to start off the month of December

Winter Preview

I know you are excited about winter arriving soon and I am sure my seniors are very excited about having some snow days. I will watch the weather faithfully and post here when the weather forecasts snowfall of 3 inches or more.
I will leave you with this quote from the Farmers Almanac

"With colder-than-normal temperatures in the Northeast and above-normal precipitation expected, our outlook forewarns of not only a good amount of snow, but also a wintry mix of rain, sleet—especially along the coast," the long range forecaster suggests.

Dorian

I am sure you have heard there is a hurricane headed towards Florida. Hurricane Dorian is expected to make a turn to the North so I will be blogging in a day or two to let you know if we will be getting any remnants of this hurricane. Stay tuned

Snow Day

I'm excited! I have my first snow day of the year tomorrow. Nothing has changed since my last post. The snow should begin by 10pm and will continue until 8:00 tomorrow morning. A few new maps have come out since my last post so here they are.

I hope all my students enjoy their snow day tomorrow!

I think we have a snow day

Good afternoon everyone, I do believe we will be having our first snow day of the year. Here are the latest maps. I will update again after I watch all the local news at 6pm

Winter Storm Scott

Storm #1 for the weekend is just about over and we didn't get as big of a storm as we expected but don't worry if you love snow more is coming. Winter storm Scott is expected to arrive Sunday night after dark and continue through Monday morning. Monday morning commute may be difficult.
so drive carefully

The storm has taken a slight turn further south so the rain/snow line will come not be coming to far north. Below are all the maps I can find this morning. I'm sorry I will not be able to update this later today because I am going away for the weekend to spend some time with my sisters. I will update when I get home early Sunday night.

Saturday Storm

Today is March 1st and we are expecting the biggest snowfall of the year. I guess winter starts in March. We have two storms arriving this weekend. The first is expected to arrive just after midnight tonight (early tomorrow morning) this storm should deliver over 6 inches of snow for this area. Then we have a second storm coming Sunday night. (more on that tomorrow)
The Snow Saturday will continue into early afternoon making travel difficult through the first half of the day. This graphic shows the driving conditions

I have gathered every snow map I could find and just about all of them have 6+ inches except for the National weather service.  So we will start with the map having the lowest amounts.

Here are the rest of the maps that I found. If anything changes during the day I will blog again. If everything stays the same I will not be posting again today,

Enjoy the snow!
