Chance of snow

 I’m keeping an eye on a chance for snow next Thursday and Friday. Too early to give any details. At this point there is just a small chance but since we haven’t had any snow I’m getting excited. 

The Wind is coming

 Today is the day to get prepared. We have a lot of rain and wind headed our way tonight and all day tomorrow. The wind will be strong so I expect widespread power outages. Make sure you charge all your devices today and get gas for the generators. Watching the news this morning, I saw reports of airlines that are already cancelling flights out of Logan for tomorrow in anticipation of this storm. The good news I have regarding tis storm is that the temperatures will be rising to the mid 50s.

Let's just hope that the power companies are ready so power can be restored in a timely fashion.

Once this storm clears out we will have bitter cold temperatures to deal with on Saturday 

And Sunday is supposed to be the coldest Christmas we have had in a long time with temperatures in the 20s. So enjoy the warm temperatures tomorrow. 

NO White Christmas

 Every year I hope for a little snow just before Christmas and this year I will be disappointed just like most years. A few days ago I was hopeful as there was a low pressure headed this way, but the path of this low pressure is too far to the west which means warmer temps (50 degrees) so we get rain instead of snow. We will probably get over an inch of rain with this storm that comes in Thursday night and lasts all day Friday.

Sorry that I gave everyone some false hope and excitement for a white Christmas, maybe next year.

This is the next storm that I have my eye on. Stay tuned...

Mostly Rain and Wind

 Our next storm will begin around midnight Thursday night as rain. There is a slight chance of a mix of rain and snow  in my area but that will change to all rain. The rain will continue all day Friday with plenty of wind too. The storm will come to an end Saturday morning as a little light snow that should not amount to anything.

Sorry to say that all my friends in Norton will have school on Friday. I'll keep you posted of any potential snow storm to give you a snow day.

White Christmas in New England?

 Hello all my fellow snow lovers. I apologize for not blogging about the snow we two days ago. Between my trip to Disney World and my kitchen renovation I have been preoccupied. I'm back now and the kitchen is just about done. 

The cold weather has finally arrived, not sure I'm happy about that, but if we want snow we need cold temps.

I am watching a storm that is set to arrive here sometime Thursday night and last all day Friday. The exact track is not known yet but it looks like Eastern Mass will be getting all rain and maybe a few flurries as the storm winds down. Western Mass may be in for several inches of snow. Even my friends at UMass Amherst may not be far enough west and may get lots of rain before changing to a little snow.

I will continue to watch the weather reports on TV and read every article about this storm and I will blog again tomorrow afternoon.

Then after this storm, I am watching precip arriving the Friday before Christmas. There is a chance we could have a little snow both Friday and Saturday before Christmas. First I will concern myself with the storm this week and then I will discuss next weeks storm.
