Rain Rain go away

I get so frustrated with all this rain and cold temperatures. During this #StayatHome time I would be much happier if I could go outside more. Today was sunny but a bit chilly with the wind and tomorrow we are getting rain. Lots of rain all day.
Saturday looks pretty good weather wise, Dry, sunny temps around 60 degrees so get outside while you can.
Guess what is coming our way on Sunday? Yup, more rain!

I will let you know when this wet pattern comes to an end. Let's hope that is soon

Saturday morning snow

So it seems that winter will be making a minor comeback tonight into tomorrow morning. A few meteorologists have added a little to their snowfall totals since yesterday.  Seems like I could be getting up to 5 inches here in Plainville. Don't worry, you will not need to shovel unless you plan to go somewhere tomorrow morning. Most of the snow will not stick to pavement at the beginning of this storm. The snow should melt by the end of the day Saturday.

The precipitation should start out as rain around 8-9 pm tonight and then by midnight change over to snow. The snow will continue until early Saturday morning and may change back to a light rain before stopping. Then everything will melt as the day goes on. There is a storm warning in effect as the map below shows but all is over by noon time. after 12 noon we may still have some lingering showers but no more snow.

Saturday temperatures should be in the lower 40s and then Sunday is looking much better. There will be sunshine and temperatures in the 50s.

Let's hope I blog about nicer weather next week. No more cold and snow.
Everyone stay healthy.

April snow

Brace yourself for a little coating of white stuff. There is snow in the forecast for Friday night into Saturday morning. Not much, but I would prefer none at all.

Thankfully it isn't much and whatever does stick to the ground will melt away quickly. Then Sunday we can go outside and  get some vitamin D as the sun will be shining and the temperatures should be in the upper 50's.
Let's hope this is the last post I make where I mention snow until December.

possible power outages

I just want to write this post to make sure everyone is ready for the possibility of losing their power. In addition to heavy rain, Monday's storm will have high winds. there will be gusts in our area of up to 60 mph.

When the winds are this strong we usually have power lines that come down which results in the loss of power.
Make sure all your devices are fully charged in case this happens to you. Fingers crossed that none of us lose power or if we do I hope the power company is ready to get the power back on quickly.

Stay safe and Stay healthy.

Monday storm

As a certified skywarn spotter I get emails when a storm is headed my way. This is part of the email I received this evening.

.A powerful storm system on Monday will bring the potential for widespread strong to damaging winds, heavy downpours and the potential for isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms for much of Southern New England.
..A High Wind Watch is now in effect for the entire NWS Boston/Norton coverage area from Monday Morning to Monday Evening for sustained winds of 25-40 MPH with gusts of 65 MPH and isolated to scattered high wind gusts likely. These winds could cause scattered to numerous trees and wires to come down and scattered to numerous power outages..

Make sure you don't leave anything outside that could blow away as there will be such strong winds.

Easter weather looking good

Hello everyone,
I hope you got outside today and yesterday to get some fresh air while you could. I was out both days in my greenhouse. My veggies are starting to grow.
Tomorrow will be an inside day as we should be getting an inch of rain with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon especially south of the mass pike. I would enjoy a good thunderstorm
After Thursday's rain we dry out but don't warm up too much until Easter Sunday. Sunday should be mid 50's with a mix of sun and clouds.

Get outside and soak up the vitamin D whenever you can.

Stay healthy!
