Another snow day

I got the call making this a 5-day weekend. Last week we had 3 days of school, this week we will have 4 and then next week we are on school vacation. Too much time off all at once.
well back to the weather....
this storm isn't over yet. We will get a few more inches over night and then the wind picks up. Let's all hope we do not lose power tomorrow, but just in case make sure all your electronics are fully charged.
I really hope this is all for a few days. There is a small storm for Wednesday/Thursday. I am hoping this stays small.

The latest on storm Orson

Not much new to report. The storm started a little earlier than expected and I was expecting rain to start the storm, seems that is not the case because nothing but snow here at my house.

I found two additional maps to add to all the previous maps I posted

I will post an update if anything changes. For now just enjoy another snow day.

midnight update

One last update before I go to sleep for the night. Some meteorologists are increasing their amounts but the weather channel is staying on the lower side.
These are the latest snow total maps.

I will have another update for you tomorrow,

Winter Storm Watch

at 4:29 pm today The National weather service issued a winter storm warning. the warning starts tomorrow morning and continues into Monday night Below are parts of that warning for the Taunton area.

Next Storm is named Orson

Are you ready to do some more shoveling? Winter Storm Orson is set to arrive Sunday. This storm will start out as a little rain and then change over to snow. Most reports I read stated only 3 or 4 inches like this snow total map

s

one channel just changed their mind and increased the amounts to  4- 8 inches.

There is still plenty of time before the storm arrives to fine tune the forecast and I am sure the amounts will continue to change which means I will continue to update this blog

On to the next

How did everyone do in today's blizzard? Hope you didn't hurt your back shoveling. Well this storm is just about over and now I look to the next one. There is a chance for more snow Sunday night and then again Wednesday. At this time it is a little too early to know if these storms will amount to much but I will keep an eye on them and post here.
Enjoy your weekend. I certainly will as I just got word that I have a 2nd snow day which means I get a 4 day weekend.

Update on Niko

Below are all the weather maps I found this afternoon. If you compare to my earlier posts you will see that most of them have remained the same with the exception of 1 or 2 that increased their amounts. Don't forget that wind is going to be an issue as well.

Winter Storm Niko

Our snow storm for Thursday has a name, NIKO.  everything seems to be the same as last night. Snow is expected to start falling just as we begin our school day

Along with the snow there may be some high wind gusts. My advice is to make sure your electronic devices are fully charged tonight.

Below are the new snow total maps I found this morning. all the others have stayed the same.

I will post another update late this afternoon.

Thursday Update

I know I said I would update tomorrow but I couldn't wait. I went to bed early and watched the weather channel. Now they have me even more excited about this snowstorm. The weather channel has increased their snow totals from 5-8 to now 8-12 inches

The weather this week is crazy we had some snow today, high 50s tomorrow and then a big storm Thursday

Here are a few other maps I found online
I think this one from NBC Boston has the highest totals with 12-18 inches

I know everyone is wondering about a snow day on Thursday.I'm sorry I have not updated you sooner but I haven't been feeling all that well. Here is a quick update. Yes we are getting snow and there is a good chance for close to a foot if not a little more than that.

This snow map is from WBZ TV
They are predicting the snow to start falling around 7 am Thursday.

Channel 7 WHDH has also put out a snow map with amounts a little lower

and then we have weather.com with the lowest amounts of all. only 5-8 inches.

I will keep an eye on this and update tomorrow.
